Like all LifeMatters services, secure email is voluntary, free, and confidential within the limits of the law. No information regarding your use of LifeMatters will be shared with anyone, including your employer, without your consent, unless there is a threat of harm to yourself or others. LifeMatters counselors are legally obligated to report suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult to a designated social service agency and to act to prevent imminent threats of suicide, homicide, or grave harm. For individuals processed for a government security clearance, the Department of Investigative Services (DIS) requires LifeMatters to disclose unsafe behaviors that may violate DIS regulations.
